This is the third draft of a precalculus textbook for science and engineering students. The authors wished to have the text reflect the spirit of reform as established in the standards of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and AMATYC, the American Mathematical Association of Two-year Colleges. In order to do so, the now famous Rule of Three has been followed throughout. That is all topics are presented from the graphical, numerical, and algebraic perspective throughout the text. While keeping with the spirit of reform, the authors have included basic algebraic skills because students do need these skills in their future science and engineering courses.
